Arkansas Nonprofit to Receive $72K in Grant Funds to Assist Youth with Housing Needs

FORT SMITH, Ark.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Join some representatives from Centennial Bank, First National Bank of Fort Smith, First Security Bank, Generations Bank, Simmons Bank and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas (FHLB Dallas) at a ceremonial check presentation today to award $72,000 in Partnership Grant Program (PGP) funds to the Fort Smith Children’s Shelter. The funds will be used toward expanding the GetREAL24 program, which assists youth who have aged out of foster care. The shelter will offer furnished, one-bedroom apartment units for eligible youth adults.

The ceremony will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2020 at 3015 South 14th Street in Fort Smith, Arkansas. The media is encouraged to attend.

Through the PGP, FHLB Dallas member institutions contribute $500 to $6,000 to a community-based organization (CBO), which FHLB Dallas matches at a 5:1 ratio.
