Caliburn International Chairman Thomas J. Campbell Earns Eisenhower Award

RESTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Caliburn International’s founder and chairman, Thomas J. Campbell, was recently awarded the prestigious Eisenhower Award by the Business Executives for National Security.

The Eisenhower Award recognizes both public servants and private citizens who have contributed to President Eisenhower’s definition of national security, which he described as “…the total product of our economic, intellectual, moral, and military strength.”

“This award is not just for me but for the people who shaped my character, my thought process, and my values which ultimately have guided my actions,” Mr. Campbell said when accepting the award during a virtual ceremony on June 9. “I have learned that if you put family and country first everything else falls into place – it requires the art of compromise, the importance of listening, and surrounding yourself with the best people.”

“Tom Campbell is dedicated to supporting military services, warfighters and other security-related agencies,” said Jim Van Dusen, Chief Executive Officer at Caliburn. “His leadership in the business community focuses on issues which directly impact national security and he consistently strives to make our nation a safer and better place. Our entire organization extends a sincere congratulations to Tom for this achievement.”

In addition to his work with Caliburn International, Mr. Campbell is the founder and managing partner of DC Capital Partners, LLC. He has served as a member of the Boards of Directors of numerous public and private companies and is active in both geopolitical and philanthropic endeavors.

Mr. Campbell was honored along with General David L. Goldfein, the US Air Force Chief of Staff and Eren and Fatih Ozmen, owners and leaders of Sierra Nevada Corporation. Mr. Campbell’s contributions to national security were celebrated by two “appreciators” – former Under Secretary of Defense Michèle Flournoy, and former Ambassador and National Coordinator for Security and Counter-Terrorism, Richard Clarke.

Comprised of senior business and industry executives, Business Executives for National Security is a nonpartisan nonprofit that applies best practices to address the nation’s security challenges.
