Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School Selects Absolute to Protect Mission-Critical Apps With Unbreakable Endpoint Resilience

Remote visibility and management of devices, data and applications ensure a seamless remote learning experience

VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Absolute® (TSX: ABT), the leader in Endpoint Resilience™, announced today that Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School, one of the largest, most experienced and successful online K-12 public schools in the nation, has selected the Absolute Control® solution and Absolute’s Application Persistence™ service for unbreakable visibility and control over their fleet of 15,000 devices.

A pioneer in remote learning, PA Cyber, based in Midland, PA, has offered online learning environments, personalized instructional methods, and choices of curricula with state-certified teachers and rich academic content that is aligned with state standards for more than 20 years. Their tuition-free education is available for every school-aged child who resides in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The school is also a flourishing remote learning environment that many other schools are now trying to replicate amidst the COVID-19 outbreak.

“We were able to find the potholes [in remote learning] before people even knew there were potholes,” said Dean Phillips, Director of Technology at PA Cyber. “By the time the COVID-19 pandemic hit, we had already evolved into a bulletproof system.”

PA Cyber first turned to Absolute Control to gain visibility into device location, and the ability to remotely freeze and wipe them if they weren’t returned. As a result, their device reclamation rate increased significantly. With the later addition of Absolute’s Application Persistence, Phillips and his team can now also ensure an always-on, two-way connection to their IT management solution, which they use to remotely update devices with security patches, new applications and scripts.

Device visibility and remote management, along with Application Persistence to ensure their mission-critical IT management application remains installed, healthy and effective, ensures Endpoint Resilience across PA Cyber’s device fleet and, in the minds of students, technology that just works.

“Our equipment goes into households that range from folks who are not technologically savvy all the way to folks who are literally rocket scientists. They all love our technology, right down to the pre-loaded software,” Phillips said. “Thankfully, with the right technology resources in place, including Absolute, we can ensure an exceptional, seamless remote learning experience.”

“Your security posture is only as strong as your ability to see and manage your endpoints and the critical applications that support your mission,” said Art Robinson, AVP of State, Local and Education Sales at Absolute. “We are thrilled to be a partner to PA Cyber as they continue to provide leading-edge remote education to the students of Pennsylvania.”
