Diligent Offers Nonprofits Free Access to ‘BoardEffect’ to Support Mission-Based Organizations During COVID-19 Crisis

Nonprofit board management solution will be made available for free to local 501(c)3 organizations as they move to virtual board meetings during this unprecedented time

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--In response to the COVID-19 crisis, Diligent Corporation announced today it will offer BoardEffect, its board management solution for mission-based organizations, free of charge to local 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations through the crisis.

While COVID-19 impacts the way organizations of all types operate, small nonprofits are especially vulnerable as resources and funding become less available. As these entities are faced with an ever-evolving crisis, they also need to abruptly shift how they stay connected, hold meetings, and collaborate. To do this right, nonprofit organizations need better access to modern governance tools that allow them greater capabilities to organize, communicate, and collaborate with leaders, staff, and other stakeholders while working remotely.

With free access to BoardEffect, smaller nonprofits can securely share and amend documents, schedule and host virtual meetings, and collaborate through online voting, surveys, discussion forms, and board committee workrooms. Additionally, BoardEffect’s integrations with GoToMeeting and Zoom facilitate crucial video conference communication during social distancing.

“Nonprofits play a vital role in the health and welfare of communities, and many organizations are facing new and difficult challenges because of the COVID-19 crisis,” said Brian Stafford, CEO of Diligent. “During these unprecedented times, we feel that it’s extremely important to offer our support and partnership to these organizations that do so much for their own communities. We’re committed to helping these organizations weather the crisis by empowering them with technology to communicate effectively with their communities and stakeholders.”
