Diligent Offers Free Access to ‘Community by Diligent’ for K-12 Public School Districts to Ensure Connectivity with Their Communities During Crisis

Digital school board management solution will be made available to K-12 public school boards through the end of the school year.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Diligent Corporation announced today it will offer Community by Diligent, a modern governance solution that enables online school board meetings, free of charge to K-12 public school districts through at least the end of the school year.

Faced with widespread closures due to COVID-19, school districts across the country are shifting classroom structures, changing policies, and adapting to the realities of “social distancing.” The changes impact not only students and faculty, but also school boards and administration, who are unable to hold business meetings in person while their districts are forced to shut down due to the risk of the novel coronavirus.

Launched in October 2019, Community by Diligent is the next iteration of the industry leading solution, BoardDocs, a trusted tool used by over 3,500 boards in public education and local government. The intuitive, easy-to-use paperless meeting software provides digital school board management, including video conferencing integrations. By leveraging fully secure digital tools and resources, school officials can streamline the way they build agendas, distribute board materials to the board, and communicate with parents and the public before, during, and after school board meetings as they manage responses to COVID-19.

Key benefits of Community by Diligent include:

  • Run remote meetings easily, confidently, and inclusively
  • Ensure your parents and your community is informed and safe during times of crisis
  • Reduce dependence on antiquated processes of board management, like email and paper packets
  • Ensure video conference links are available for board members and the public
  • Ensure all community members can fully participate in school board meetings
  • Enable your school board members to be hyper-focused on the crisis at hand

In times of crisis, modern governance matters more than ever.” said Brian Stafford, CEO of Diligent. “School boards are facing an array of unprecedented challenges, but access to technology does not have to be one of them. At Diligent, we’re committed to putting communities first and want to support school boards who are in need of communication tools that allow remote access to critical information, enable decision-making, and allow community participation in meetings – even in this new entirely virtual world.”

In addition to offering Community by Diligent to new K-12 public school district subscribers, existing subscribers of the BoardDocs platform are eligible for free upgrades to expand services in the same time period.
