Kaplan Professional to Help Universities Offer Free Training to Students Disrupted by COVID-19

LA CROSSE, Wisc.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Kaplan Professional announced today that it, in collaboration with CyberVista, will offer free online educational courses for select industry-recognized credentials to colleges and universities in the United States. As the economy moves toward likely recession due to the global COVID-19 crisis, industry-recognized credentials, stacked on top of college degrees, can serve as a compelling job market differentiator for students.

“As universities are closing campuses, students have a unique opportunity to fill their educational ‘downtime’ by focusing their energy toward earning an industry-recognized credential,” said Andrew Temte, CEO of Kaplan Professional.

The online courses being made available to university students include:

  • Securities Industry Essentials (SIE)
  • Wealth Management SpecialistSM (WMS)
  • Financial Paraplanner Qualified ProfessionalSM (FPQP)
  • Fundamentals of Civil Engineering (FE)
  • Security+ Online Solution
  • Cybersecurity Critical Knowledge CourseTM

Effective immediately, and until the end of July 2020, universities interested in making these programs available to students should contact Kaplan Professional, and an online enrollment and education portal will be quickly made available. “As we brace for a likely global recession, it is more important than ever that college graduates are taking additional steps to prepare for workplace readiness,” said Temte.

Colleges and universities interested in participating can complete this request form or email workplaceready@kaplan.com.
