PCG Strengthens Technology Consulting Practice

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Public Consulting Group, Inc. (PCG) is moving to strengthen and grow its Technology Consulting practice in the mid-Atlantic and southeastern U.S., naming long-time project management expert Sylvia H. Mitchem as a Director for the group.

PCG helps public sector health, education, and human services organizations improve their performance and processes, which results in healthy, empowered, and successful individuals, families, and communities. Through innovative and cost-effective programs, the Technology Consulting team, in which Mitchem will now hold a senior leadership position, helps state and local government agencies deliver successful IT systems that enhance the lives of citizens across the country.

“Sylvia has deep experience advising senior executives operating in the health, human, and social services programs about how to manage their IT systems and execute on their key strategic priorities,” said Fred Forrer, PCG Vice President. “She is skilled at managing teams focused on the software-development lifecycle, the heart and soul of PCG’s partnerships with our state government clients.”

Mitchem’s role includes business development, resource management, risk management, and project delivery efforts. Her focus will be guiding teams to support the transformation of health, human, and social services through technology.

Prior to joining PCG, Mitchem worked at Conduent, an electronic benefits transfer (EBT) processor, implementing EBT services for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) for the Northeast Coalition of States. She also has public sector experience, spent with the Virginia Department of Health as a project manager implementing the enterprise management information system.

“I am incredibly excited to join PCG, to work with a team that is passionate about serving our communities, and to build and provide solutions that matter,” said Mitchem. “I look forward to applying my knowledge of how to make technology work best for a full range of public-sector clients to grow and deepen our partnerships in the southeast and mid-Atlantic regions.”

Mitchem earned a Master of Science degree in Information Systems and a Bachelor of Science in Business from Virginia Commonwealth University. She is an Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) and a Project Management Professional (PMP).
