Edifecs Partners with Google Cloud and GuideWell to Present at HIMSS20

Presentation will showcase a comprehensive cloud-based solution to unlock and standardize patient healthcare data, while streamlining experience for care coordinators

ORLANDO, Fla.--()--Edifecs, Inc. a global health information technology solutions company, in collaboration with Google Cloud and GuideWell, will present a powerful solution to remove patient data from silos, improve the member experience and streamline care coordinator’s workstreams at the 2020 HIMSS Conference and Exhibition March 9-13 in Orlando, Fla.

Together, experts from Edifecs, Google Cloud and GuideWell will share how Edifecs was able to replicate GuideWell’s on-premise Edifecs implementation on Google Cloud using the Google Cloud Healthcare API. The solution adjusts to CMS’ proposed policy changes and initiatives such as Blue Button 2.0 and MyHealthEData, to support patient data accessibility, advance electronic data exchange and care coordination throughout the healthcare system.

WHAT: FHIRing Up the Cloud: How Edifecs and Google Replicated GuideWell’s BB 2.0 Framework for the Cloud. This presentation will demonstrate a simulation of how GuideWell, a health solutions company that serves 27 million people, could deploy the Edifecs Smart Trading Platform on Google Cloud to securely share information with its health insurance members. Attendees will learn how medical and financial data formats such as HL7 v2.5 and HIPAA 5010A1, CCD can be mapped to FHIR and seamlessly loaded into the Google Cloud Health FHIR server, through Edifecs’ module for FHIR, and then accessed by a member. While demonstrating an improved member experience, the simulation will also highlight how a GuideWell care coordinator can access the information on the back end by utilizing the Edifecs FHIR Payer Portal powered by the Google Cloud Health API.
