Tru Vue President Jane Boyce Recognized With STEP Ahead Award for Excellence in Manufacturing

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Apogee Enterprises, Inc. (Nasdaq: APOG) announced today that Jane Boyce, President of the company’s Tru Vue business unit, was honored with a 2020 STEP Ahead Award from the Manufacturing Institute’s Women in Manufacturing initiative. The STEP Ahead Awards honor women who have demonstrated excellence and leadership in the manufacturing industry.

Boyce was honored for her contributions as the President of Apogee’s Tru Vue subsidiary, a manufacturer of high performance glazing products for the custom picture framing, museum, and technical glass markets. Since joining Tru Vue in 2006, she has compiled an impressive record of achievement, successfully leading the company through a strategic transformation, while delivering consistent profitable growth.

“All of us at Apogee are very proud of Jane’s well deserved recognition,” said Joseph F. Puishys, Apogee’s Chief Executive Officer. “Under her leadership, Tru Vue has clearly established itself as the recognized global leader and innovator in the framing and display market. Her leadership, passion for excellence, and commitment to mentoring others sets an inspiring example for everyone at our company and across our entire industry.”

Launched in 2012, the STEP (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Production) Women’s Initiative is the nation’s marquee program to close the gender gap in manufacturing. STEP works to foster a 21st-century manufacturing workforce by elevating and inspiring women in the manufacturing industry through recognition, research, and leadership, as well as by motivating alumnae to pay it forward by mentoring the next generation. The Manufacturing Institute will honor Boyce and other award recipients at a reception in Washington, D.C. on April 30, 2020. A complete list of 2020 award recipients is available of the Manufacturing Institute’s website.
