Wiley Lowers Cost of WileyPLUS Courseware That Boosts Student Success

HOBOKEN, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--John Wiley & Sons, Inc. (NYSE:JWA) (NYSE:JWB), a global leader in research and education, announced today it has lowered prices for its online courseware platform, WileyPLUS. With the launch of Wiley Advantage Pricing, students will pay $69 per term for most WileyPLUS courseware products.

“We know the affordability of college course materials has a significant impact on both students and instructors, and at Wiley, we’re working to change that,” said Matt Leavy, Executive Vice President of Education Publishing for Wiley. “The launch of Wiley Advantage Pricing is an important next step in our commitment to lower costs, while continuing to deliver high-impact, high-quality courseware.”

The new Wiley Advantage Pricing offers unmatched flexibility and lower costs to better meet students’ needs, including:

  • Single-term, grade-enhancing courseware for $69 on most products
  • Free extended access for students needing to retake a course

Added Leavy, “Especially in traditionally tough subjects like organic chemistry or engineering, WileyPLUS courseware can be a grade-saving resource. With Wiley Advantage Pricing, learners will have more affordable access to WileyPLUS, along with its robust homework questions and assessments integrated with the full digital version of the faculty selected text, ultimately leading to their success.”

Wiley continues to work to provide more affordable solutions for students, including initiatives offering inclusive access agreements, and print and eBook rentals. Recently, Wiley also lowered the cost of most single-term eBooks to $39 per semester. These programs have helped students save approximately $8 million on course materials over the last three years. With the acquisitions of zyBooks and Knewton, Wiley is accelerating its position in the rapidly growing affordable courseware market.

Wiley Advantage Pricing, which goes into effect May 1, 2020, is the next major step forward in providing the highest quality affordable solutions to students.
