Everstream Closes Purchase of LightBound Fiber Assets from DataBank

Indianapolis network spans more than 800 route miles to provide high-speed connectivity to businesses

CLEVELAND--()--Everstream, the business-only fiber network, today announced that it has completed its purchase of a 200-plus-mile Indianapolis-based fiber network and CLEC operation from DataBank, a leading provider of enterprise-class data center, connectivity and managed services. The fiber network and CLEC assets originally owned by LightBound were purchased by DataBank.

The purchase is part of Everstream’s strategy to provide reliable, high-bandwidth connectivity to enterprises in the Indianapolis metro area and throughout the Midwest. With the deal’s close, Everstream is immediately able to provide connectivity in more than 75 lit buildings in Indianapolis as well as the western suburbs of Avon, Brownsburg and Plainfield.

The acquisition of LightBound’s fiber assets have given us a tremendous head start in delivering reliable, high-performance connectivity to Indianapolis area businesses,” said Everstream President and CEO Brett Lindsey. “We are now able to provide these organizations with direct access to our more than 13,000 miles of fiber and connections to dozens of data centers throughout the Midwest.”

In October 2019, Everstream announced its entry into the Indianapolis market with the acquisition and planned buildout of a network that will total 800 route miles. The network includes:

  • More than 200 route miles of fiber from DataBank.
  • An additional network build of 600 route miles, for a total of more than 800 route miles.
  • An investment of $38 million throughout the Indianapolis metro area as part of a total $250 million network investment in the Midwest in 2020.
  • Fiber-based Ethernet and internet services capable of speeds up to 100 Gbps.
  • Direct connection to Everstream’s existing fiber network infrastructure in Northern Ohio, and its other markets in the Midwest.
  • Connectivity to DataBank in Indianapolis, and access to another 36 data centers across the Midwest.

Everstream’s enterprise-grade network delivers robust business fiber services, including dedicated internet access, dark fiber, Ethernet and data center solutions. Everstream’s advanced fiber network offers direct peering with all major carriers and cloud hyperscalers. With high-speed, low-latency connections, it can accommodate converged internet, voice and data services at speeds of up to 100 Gbps.

The company is on track to grow to more than 15,000 miles of fiber with more than 3,000 on-net locations in 12 markets throughout the Midwest by the end of 2020. As Everstream’s network grows, its customers benefit from more diverse network options and direct connection to data centers and locations in the expanded region.
