Udemy Hires Veteran Product Leader and Adds Key Member to its Board of Directors

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Udemy, the largest global marketplace for learning and teaching online, announced the appointment of Prasad Gune as Senior Vice President of Product where he will lead the company’s product management, design, and UX research teams. As Udemy continues to scale around the world, the company also announced the appointment of Lydia Ventura Paterson to its Board of Directors.

Prasad brings strategic product leadership skills and a wealth of knowledge and experience on marketplace and enterprise offerings. While SVP of Product at OpenTable, Prasad drove product vision and strategy and led a 70-person product and design team that delivered numerous product improvements to delight diners and restaurants. Prior to OpenTable, he led product management for Recruiter, LinkedIn's flagship monetization product within the multi-billion dollar Talent Solutions portfolio, establishing it as the industry standard for talent sourcing. Prasad holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.

Lydia Ventura Paterson is the Chief Financial Officer for OLX Group, the online classifieds business of Prosus, a global consumer internet group and one of the largest technology investors in the world. Lydia brings with her over 20 years of corporate and operational finance experience formed at high-growth global consumer technology companies, including PayPal and eBay. Lydia was a Board of Directors member for the eBay Foundation, and in addition has served on other BODs in the US, South America, Europe, and Russia.
