SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--VIPKid has been honored and awarded as one of the Best Places to Work in 2020, its second year on the list. Ranked number 9 out of 100 in the United States, VIPKid has risen 58 positions on the list since 2019. VIPKid was also ranked 3 out of 25 on Glassdoor’s Best Places to Work in Canada list. The awards program, now in its 12th year, is based on the input about VIPKid on Glassdoor, one of the world’s largest job and recruiting sites.
Many tutors on VIPKid’s digital platform provide feedback on their experience voluntarily and anonymously. Several highlight VIPKid as “the best job I’ve ever had” noting the flexibility of working remotely from home as an independent contractor and enjoyability of the children they get to work with. Others express gratitude for the close-knit and enthusiastic teacher community both online and in person at conferences and meetups.
“We are honored to be recognized by Glassdoor as a Best Place to Work, and proud to be a part of the top 10 companies for 2020. This award speaks to the passionate teacher community as we strive to foster a positive and empowering experience for teachers on our platform,” said Cindy Mi, Founder and CEO of VIPKid.
“This year marks the shift to a culture-first decade in the workplace, and Glassdoor’s Award winners are companies that are prioritizing culture and mission at the heart of everything they do. By doing so, their people have spoken and are recognizing them truly as the Best Places to Work in 2020,” said Christian Sutherland-Wong, Glassdoor president, chief operating officer and incoming chief executive officer.
Glassdoor’s Best Places to Work were determined using company reviews shared between October 23, 2018 and October 21, 2019. To be considered for the U.S. large category, a company must have had at least 1,000 or more members of their workforce or contractors, and have received at least 75 ratings across each of the eight workplace attributes from U.S.-based workers during the period of eligibility. The final list is compiled using Glassdoor’s proprietary algorithm, led by its Economic Research Team, and takes into account quantity, quality and consistency of reviews.
