New Hires Bring Experience from Google, Facebook, Dropbox and Overstock

BOSTON--()--RxSense®, the healthcare technology company developing solutions that improve transparency and access to affordable medications, today announced the appointments of Vishal Arora as the chief technology officer of its enterprise division and Nitin Shingate as the chief technology officer for its consumer division. Arora will be responsible for leading engineering for the company’s transformative enterprise solutions for pharmacy benefits administration and Shingate will lead engineering efforts for the company’s consumer-facing prescription savings services, SingleCare® and FamilyWize.

Nitin and Vishal bring tremendous experience and the passion for innovation that comes from building engineering teams at fast-growing organizations,” said Rick Bates, co-founder and CEO of RxSense. “As we continue to focus on developing industry-leading solutions to improve healthcare transparency and access to affordable medications, we’re looking forward to their contributions to help fuel innovation and the next chapter of our company’s growth.”

Arora’s previous engineering experience includes a seven-year tenure at Google, where he was a core part of the AdWords for advertisers rewrite, taking it from a monolith to microservices-based architecture. He also worked at Dropbox, where he bootstrapped a new engineering organization focused on building engineering infrastructure and tools. Additionally, Arora served in engineering leadership roles at Chegg and National Instruments, and most recently at EF Educational Tours, where he was vice president of engineering.

RxSense is driving important change in the U.S. healthcare system with cloud-based technologies that bring flexibility and scalability to minimize operational waste,” said Arora. “I’m excited to join this talented team to develop innovative solutions that deliver efficiency to the industry and ultimately lower costs.”

Shingate was chief technology officer at Overstock, where he led the company’s OLabs growth and innovation division and e-commerce engineering teams, and launched the company’s real estate vertical. He also held an engineering leadership role at Facebook, where he directed software engineering, DevOps, and the architect team and implemented key processes for software development. Before these roles, Shingate was VP of software development at United Online, where he helped build the platform for NetZero, MyPoints and Classmates.com. Most recently he served as chief technology officer of Raise, where he architected the company’s microservice platform and launched the mobile-first instant pay product.

With Americans struggling to afford their medications, SingleCare and FamilyWize are providing solutions to help them save,” said Shingate. “I’m thrilled to join this team and to architect and implement leading technology that supports the company’s mission to lower the cost of prescription medications for millions of people.”

RxSense was founded in 2015 with a mission to develop technology solutions that improve healthcare transparency and access to more affordable medications. Co-founder and CEO Rick Bates brought a seasoned group of healthcare veterans familiar with the challenges of the industry and paired them with a savvy tech team to develop a sophisticated architecture to address the pain points of pharmacy benefits administration. The result was a cutting-edge cloud-based enterprise platform that’s smart and simple to use, offering the speed and flexibility to meet the needs of any client.

RxSense’s consumer brand, SingleCare, is a prescription savings service that handles tens of thousands of prescriptions per day and is helping millions of customers save billions of dollars on their medications. RxSense’s vertically integrated business, including its own proprietary technology for adjudication and claims management and direct contracts with the nation’s largest pharmacies (including CVS, Walmart and Walgreens), allows SingleCare to deliver consistently low prices to U.S. consumers on prescription drugs.
