WASHINGTON--()--SmartEnergy IPTM announced today that the 2019 Smart Grid Customer Innovation Awards were presented last night at a special awards ceremony at the 9th annual Smart Grid Customer Education Symposium. The awards were presented to leaders and organizations that have demonstrated outstanding accomplishments, leadership and innovation in engaging customers about grid modernization and benefits if advanced technologies in the utilities industry.

The winners list is as follows:

  • Leadership award to an individual who has demonstrated exceptional leadership in areas related to smart grid customer education

  • Leadership award to an organization that has demonstrated innovation in areas related to smart grid customer education
    Dominion Energy
  • Leadership awards presented to two utilities or organizations that have demonstrated outstanding leadership relating to the adoption of new technology to improve their communities
    Alabama Power and Georgia Power
  • Excellence award in innovative collaboration to a group of organizations that collaborated for the purposes of improving customer education
    Reliant and Google

Also recognized last evening were Innovative All-Stars who were recognized for outstanding commitment to customer education and advancing our industry forward.
