City of Boerne, Texas, Extends Community Engagement Efforts with Tyler Technologies’ MyCivic Application

Citizen engagement application went live in under three months

PLANO, Texas--()--Tyler Technologies Inc. (NYSE: TYL) announced today the city of Boerne, Texas, has successfully gone live with Tyler’s MyCiviccitizen engagement application.

Utilizing a rapid-deployment model, the city was live on MyCivic in less than three months. After deciding what features the city wanted to include in the application, Tyler and the city worked together to develop and finalize the content in an easy-to-use layout. The app is available for download at no cost from the Apple® App Store and the Google® Play Store.

“We’re thrilled to unveil the MyCivic app to our city,” said Mike Raute, information technology director for the city of Boerne. “Our residents are already starting to embrace the app, and we believe they will find a lot of value in its contents. Not only does the app give citizens crucial information, but it also provides a forum for communication between them and their local government.”

The city’s app includes a variety of features to keep citizens informed. For example, a module called House Watch allows out-of-town Boerne residents to request the police department patrol their house while they are away. Officers can communicate directly with those residents via the app. The app also includes information on elected officials, city hall meetings, community news, local events, and allows residents to easily pay their utility bill or traffic citation.

“It’s great to see the city of Boerne roll out our new civic engagement mobile app so quickly and smoothly,” said Dane Womble, president of Tyler’s Local Government Division. “MyCivic provides an easy, comprehensive platform for residents to connect with their community and local government, and we’re pleased to see that cities like Boerne are finding value in it.”

The city of Boerne selected Tyler’s MyCivic application to provide a better citizen engagement tool for its community via a public-facing mobile app. Since the launch on July 27, a total of 321 devices have downloaded the app, and the app has been opened about 1,500 times.

Boerne is part of the San Antonio-New Braunfels metropolitan area and has a population of approximately 16,000. Tyler also provides its Incode® ERP, Incode court, Incode public safety, Brazos eCitation, and ExecuTime time and attendance solutions to the city of Boerne.
