MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Ryder System, Inc. (NYSE: R), a leader in commercial fleet management, dedicated transportation, and supply chain solutions, announces the redevelopment of its Schertz, Texas location – within the San Antonio – New Braunfels metropolitan area. The facility, located at 9993 Doerr Lane, is Ryder’s latest and most modern facility in the company’s South Texas market, supporting fleets with truck leasing, maintenance, and rental needs.
The new facility, built on existing Ryder property, was constructed to improve operational efficiency and productivity. The redevelopment of the location increases Ryder’s capacity to serve the growing Schertz market, ultimately creating more jobs in the community.
“South Texas is expanding rapidly and becoming increasingly important to our regional customer base,” said John Diez, Ryder President of Fleet Management Solutions. “Our presence in Schertz started three years ago with a rental facility, but due to growing market demand, we needed more space. This redeveloped Ryder facility and its expanded capabilities will help us better serve customers through enhanced fleet management services.”
Features of the New Facility
The Schertz location includes an 18,500 square foot building and sits on five acres of land. It has nine work stations, four drive-through service bays, and a dual-lane fuel island to improve traffic flow. Additionally, the site includes a 6,000-square-foot office area including conference rooms, a driver amenity lounge, and a full-service rental counter for customers in need of a commercial vehicle.
