Angela Sun Joins Alpha Edison as Chief Operating Officer and Partner

Sun joins leadership team where she’ll focus on expanding the investing platform, capital formation, and scaling operational capacity through the company’s data and behavioral science teams.

LOS ANGELES--()--Angela Sun has been named Chief Operating Officer and Partner for the investment firm, Alpha Edison, it was announced today by Nick Grouf and Nate Redmond, Managing Partners. Sun will supervise a team responsible for research, capital formation, behavioral science, operations, marketing, finance, and human capital.

Alpha Edison is a knowledge-driven venture firm that invests in early-stage companies using AI, data and behavioral science to provide investable insights and unlock new markets. Through thematic investing and business model innovation, Alpha Edison helps entrepreneurs make better decisions and scale their enterprise.

Sun joins the company after a decade at Bloomberg LP, where she served most recently as Global Head of Strategy and Corporate Development and created the Bloomberg Gender Equality Index, a first-of-its-kind social index product that has become an industry standard for issuers and investors. She is on the board of directors at The Western Union Company (NYSE: WU) and is a Trustee of Second Stage Theater and the Museum of Arts and Design. She is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and serves on the Advisory Council of the NYU Stern Center for Business and Human Rights.

A native of California, graduated from Harvard College and worked at J.P. Morgan before receiving her J.D. from Harvard Law School. She joined McKinsey & Company as a management consultant focused on Healthcare and later went on to serve as a senior policy adviser in the Bloomberg Administration, overseeing a citywide portfolio of economic development agencies and leading large-scale urban planning efforts.
