Merrill Corporation Moving Headquarters to Downtown Minneapolis Location to Accommodate Increased Growth

Company expects to add fintech jobs in the local area to support expansion

MINNEAPOLIS--()--Merrill Corporation, a leading provider of technology for global mergers and acquisitions (M&A) professionals, today announced plans to move its global headquarters to downtown Minneapolis in the first quarter of 2020. Merrill’s new headquarters, located at 733 Marquette Avenue in the Baker Center, will replace its St. Paul and North Loop offices, bringing together all its Twin Cities employees under one roof for the first time in company history.

The move reflects Merrill’s longstanding commitment to economic development and prosperity for the Twin Cities, and is expected to bring new jobs across finance, technology and service to the area, which are key industry and occupational strengths for Minneapolis.

“Following our transformation from a collection of financial printing and communication businesses to a global, cloud-based provider of technology for M&A professionals, we are experiencing rapid growth,” said Rusty Wiley, CEO of Merrill. “The upcoming headquarters move not only helps us better serve our customers, it also gives us access to top talent in the Twin Cities to support our growth strategy.”

The company grew by 25% last fiscal year and handles more than 9,000 M&A transactions annually within its virtual data room (VDR) due diligence application, or about 20% of global M&A transactions. Merrill currently has 25 locations across 13 countries and 670 employees worldwide.

Today’s announcement follows other recent milestones for Merrill, including naming two Minneapolis-based executives to its leadership team. Earlier this year, Merrill named Dixon Gould as Chief Information Officer and Deborah LaMere as Vice President of Human Resources.

“Merrill has strong roots in the Twin Cities and, since our founding, we have grown alongside its economy,” said Tom Donnelly, chief financial officer of Merrill, who is also based in Minneapolis. “Our new corporate headquarters will have a positive impact on our Twin Cities employees, who will benefit from increased collaboration in a modern, tech-enabled workplace.”

Merrill was founded in 1968 in St. Paul. Merrill’s new Baker Center location will include amenities such as flexible and collaborative workspaces, a rooftop event space, concierge services, a fitness center, as well as convenient parking and public transportation options.
