NORTH VENICE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--PGT Innovations (NYSE: PGTI), a national leader in the premium window and door category, was recently recognized as a Finalist for the prestigious 2019 Florida Sterling Manufacturing Business Excellence Award, presented by the Florida Sterling Council and FloridaMakes. Jeff Jackson, PGT Innovations President and CEO, accepted the Finalist award on behalf of the company at the Governor’s Sterling Awards Banquet on May 31, 2019.
Among approximately 20 other candidates, PGT Innovations was selected as one of four Finalists in the category of “Corporate-backed Companies with more than 200 Employees”. During the awards ceremony, the company was recognized for its Finalist status and also claimed the “Runner Up” position for the category. In total, over 110 nominations were received across six categories.
Factors that set PGT Innovations apart and contributed to the company’s selection as a finalist included its leadership system and approach in creating a positive working environment that encourages focus on company performance, customers, community interaction, and employee engagement.
“Together, our PGT Innovations’ team creates some of the strongest, safest windows and doors on the market, with a resolute focus on always putting the customer first,” said Jeff Jackson, PGT Innovations President and CEO. “This award recognizes manufacturers in Florida with role-model operations, and we are humbled and honored to be a finalist. Most of all, we are immensely proud of our folks for the effort and dedication they demonstrate every day. Their commitment to achieving our organization’s goals was a key component of our selection for this award.”
The Florida Sterling Council and FloridaMakes collaborate on these statewide awards to recognize the state’s high-performing manufacturers. Companies were judged on six criteria categories: leadership; strategic planning; customers; measurement, analysis, and knowledge management; workforce; and operations.
“This recognition is an outstanding nod to our team’s pride in their work and dedication to their craft,” said Bob Keller, PGT Innovations Senior Vice President and President of the Southeast Business Unit. “We continually strive for operational excellence and innovative new ideas to promote team member engagement and efficiency improvements throughout our business. For our team to be recognized for these qualities is a testament to them.”
Florida Sterling-trained examiners and representatives knowledgeable of manufacturing contributed their time and expertise to evaluate nominations, including site visits and management interviews for semi-finalists.
