Leafly Expands Global Leadership Team with Three Executive Hires

SEATTLE--()--Leafly, the world’s leading destination to help people discover and find cannabis, today announced the hiring of three senior-level leaders to support the company’s expansive growth in the cannabis industry. These new hires bring capacity and expertise to a company with the industry’s leading global advertising business, a growing dispensary pickup service, and the most authoritative content offering in cannabis.

“Over the past 10 years, Leafly has become the leader in cannabis information, but we’re still at the tip of the iceberg in terms of growth in the cannabis industry,” said Leafly CEO Tim Leslie, who joined the company earlier this year. “The steps we take today at Leafly will shape the future of the industry, and we are building a team ready to meet that opportunity.”

Yoko Miyashita joins Leafly as general counsel after nearly 14 years at Getty Images, where she led the global legal team as SVP and general counsel. Miyashita will drive Leafly’s position and policies on key compliance and government affairs issues around the globe to maintain and progress the company’s reputation as a trusted and authoritative source on cannabis. She will also lead major transactional matters, intellectual property and litigation as Leafly continues to expand worldwide.

Vice President of Human Resources Tracie Wurlitzer brings more than 25 years of HR experience in multiple industries at companies such as LivePerson, Amazon, BP, Hewlett-Packard and RED Digital Cinema. She will lead recruiting, employee development and culture-building at Leafly.

Laura Morarity, a former communications leader at technology brand Sonos and legal marketplace Avvo, is Leafly’s new vice president of corporate affairs. She is responsible for all corporate communications and social responsibility initiatives at the company.

As support for cannabis legalization gains global momentum, Leafly is doubling its staff this year from 150 to 300 employees and has tripled the square footage of its headquarters in Seattle.

Leafly’s mission is to help people around the world discover, find and buy the right cannabis products for them. Consumers can use Leafly’s website and mobile app to learn about the right products for their lifestyle and wellness needs, find those products safely and efficiently, and buy them from licensed and regulated dispensaries or retail stores.

With 10 million monthly active users and 1.4 million user-generated strain, product and dispensary reviews, Leafly has the largest and fastest growing audience in the cannabis industry.
