Avios and Chase Celebrate 26-Year Relationship with Contract Renewal

Multi-Year Agreement Extends Co-Branded Credit Card Program for British Airways Visa Signature Card

NEW YORK--()--Today, Chase Card Services and Avios Group (AGL) Limited announced a multi-year extension to the British Airways Visa Signature® Card. The announcement strengthens the mission between Chase and British Airways, to provide exclusive benefits and rewards for international and domestic customers.

Leslie Gillin, President of Co-Brand Credit Cards at Chase said: “This extension builds on our rich history with Avios and British Airways – spanning nearly three decades – and reinforces our mutual commitment to enhancing the value and experience of our program in the years ahead.”

“As British Airways commemorates its 100th anniversary this year, we will also be celebrating with valuable product enhancements for our customers,” added Gillin.

The British Airways Visa Signature Card is one of the first contactless credit cards issued in the U.S. and continues to deliver great value and first-rate travel perks. Current cardmembers can expect to receive the same great service and benefits currently offered with the card:

  • Three Avios per $1 spent on British Airways, Aer Lingus, Iberia, and LEVEL purchases
  • One Avios per $1 spent on all other purchases
  • Automatic enrollment in the British Airways Executive Club
  • No foreign transaction fees
  • Travel together ticket for cardmembers spending over $30,000 a year

With Avios, customers can book reward flights and just pay for taxes, fees and carrier charges in cash. Avios can also be used for hotels, car hire and Avios part payment – reducing the cash amount paid for flights. When using Avios part payment, customers can pick from a range of savings by destination and cabin. Members will still collect Avios and tier points on these bookings.

Andrew Crawley, CEO, Avios Group said: “We are always looking to work with partners that make collecting Avios more convenient and rewarding. We are thrilled to be extending our longstanding relationship with Chase, so that their customers can continue to benefit from a wealth of travel rewards.”

In the fall of 2019, Chase, Avios and British Airways will announce new enhancements to the British Airways Visa Signature Card that were developed with cardmember feedback in mind. For more information, visit www.chase.com/britishairways.
