BUENOS AIRES, Argentina--()--Mary Kay Inc., a global beauty company and leader in skin care innovation, continues its decades-long commitment to the advancement of cutting-edge skin science research as a symposium sponsor at the prestigious Reunión Anual de Dermatólogos Latinoamericanos (RADLA). The event, held May 4–7 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, provides an opportunity for global experts in the field of dermatology to exchange knowledge on technological advances and innovative scientific achievements.

RADLA was created to address the increasing importance and medical social responsibility of dermatology in Latin America. During the 37th annual conference, leading skin care experts from around the world will convene to explore various topics including the impact of external environmental agents on skin health and how antioxidants can help reduce the damaging effects of pollution. The Mary Kay sponsored symposium, titled “Pollution and Skin Health,” will be moderated by Dr. Lucy Gildea, Mary Kay’s Chief Scientific Officer, and features a panel of three leading dermatologists:

  • Dr. Doris Hexsel, MD, Dermatologist and Principal Investigator for Hexsel Dermatologic Clinics and Brazilian Center for Studies in Dermatology in Rio de Janeiro and Porto Alegre, Brazil
  • Dr. Flavia Ravelli, MD at Flavia Ravelli Dermatology in Sao Paulo, Brazil
  • Dr. Juliana Catucci Boza, MD and Ph.D., Consultant Clinical & Aesthetic Dermatologist in Porto Alegre and Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil

As part of the symposium, Mary Kay will present findings on an antioxidant complex that can possibly help delay the premature signs of aging related to the damaging effects of diesel exhaust particles (DEP). The breakthrough technology, found in the Mary Kay® TimeWise® Miracle Set 3D skin care line, provides a powerful free-radical fighting regimen with an exclusive, patent-pending, three-dimensional approach to skin aging.

“In order to develop next-generation skin care products and fight against the premature signs of aging induced by pollution we must continue to advance cutting-edge skin science,” said Dr. Gildea. “Mary Kay scientists spent years researching the latest ingredient innovations to develop our newest skin care collection that defends against free radicals and helps delay the onset of premature skin aging from unavoidable environmental and lifestyle stressors such as car exhaust and air pollution. We are honored to present our findings during the ‘Pollution and Skin Health’ symposium at RADLA.”

Mary Kay’s symposium sponsorship at RADLA is the latest in a series of partnerships with the scientific and academic communities to further expand the top beauty brand’s leadership in science-based product development and innovation. For more information about RADLA, click here.
