OAUG is Now OATUG

Identity and branding update reflects group’s commitment to serve broad Oracle customer audience

ATLANTA--()--Today, OAUG announces that it is now the Oracle Applications and Technology Users Group (OATUG) to convey more accurately its ongoing commitment to serve members working in both functional and technology roles.

In 1990, a small group of Oracle customers came together to share collective knowledge and experiences with each other, forming the Oracle Applications Users Group (OAUG). Since its formation, the organization has grown and evolved to be a leading provider of education and networking for the global Oracle users community.

“Over the past 29 years, the OAUG users community has seen many changes, including Oracle’s acquisitions of numerous product families and the emergence of new solutions, such as engineered systems, big data, cloud computing, blockchain and the autonomous database,” said OATUG President Douglas Manning. “Our user-led and user-developed activities have grown over time to accommodate technology-focused participants, who we have been serving for a long time. Changing the name of our group is a confirmation of our ongoing work to serve the broad Oracle users community.”

In support of that same commitment to serve the broad base of Oracle users, OATUG unveils The Hub, a new online community platform that connects users virtually through online discussions and networking. The Hub debuts with four user-focused communities: Applications, BI & Analytics, DB & DevOps and one for attendees of COLLABORATE 19. In The Hub, OATUG members can engage in online discussions and share files. The Hub is a key feature of a new website – just launched – that also includes The Knowledge Base, an extensive library of conference and webinar presentations on a wide range of application and technology topics.

“Although OAUG is now OATUG, what hasn’t changed since the founding of the users group is the commitment to our members and the Oracle user community at large to being the go-to and pre-eminent independent source of knowledge and real-world experience with regard to Oracle Applications and Technology,” said Manning.
