CHICAGO & CHARLOTTE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--William Blair, a premier global boutique with expertise in investment banking, investment management and private wealth management, today announced the expansion of its Transportation, Logistics, and Automotive investment banking teams with the additions of Derek Beres, managing director, and Perry Joiner, vice president. They join William Blair’s growing Charlotte office, which has nearly tripled in size since opening just over a year ago.

Messrs. Beres and Joiner bring more than 30 years of combined experience in the transportation, logistics, and automotive sectors. Mr. Beres most recently was a managing director at Piper Jaffray, where he led that firm’s Transportation, Logistics, and Automotive group. Before that, he was a partner at Edgeview Partners, and a vice president at Morgan Stanley, where he had coverage in the U.S., London, and Germany. Mr. Joiner worked in M&A advisory at Wells Fargo and spent time in supply chain consulting, where he worked with Fortune 500 and middle-market firms.
