In addition to offering eligible members a five percent (5%) discount, EMPLOYERS will provide KRA members with information and services to implement risk management programs designed to help keep employees safe, reduce costs and promote profitability. EMPLOYERS provides these resources to all of its policyholders through its Loss Control Connectionsm, a web-based loss control platform that combines safety and loss control information with a suite of unique software programs that can help manage risk and reduce losses.
“I’m thrilled that KRA members can benefit from a strong workers’ compensation plan and potentially better control insurance related costs due to their membership. Many of the over 7,500 eating and drinking places in the state of Kentucky will receive great coverage from EMPLOYERS at a very competitive rate,” said Stacy Roof, President and CEO of Kentucky Restaurant Association.
“At EMPLOYERS, we are committed to meeting the unique needs of the Restaurant industry, which is the largest class of business at EMPLOYERS,” said Ray Wise, Chief Sales Officer, EMPLOYERS. “KRA members can choose from any EMPLOYERS appointed agents to gain access to the program. We believe giving members a choice of agents across our strong national network will add to the value and success of this exciting new program. Just like the KRA’s commitment to its members, our core focus is providing policyholders with information and tools to successfully operate and grow their businesses. We are pleased to join together with the KRA to provide its eligible members with valuable coverage and quality services.”

The planning for the Kentucky Restaurant Association began in early 1963 between the Louisville Restaurant Association (formed in 1933) and the Bluegrass Restaurant Association (formed in 1960). The membership of these two local restaurant associations, which included Col. Harland Sanders, Ed Hasenour & Fred Kunz Sr., became charter members of the KRA, with Albert J.Grisanti of Casa Grisanti as the first president. In 1964, the association was very small, now there are almost 1000 Members. The Kentucky Restaurant Association is a non-profit organization, run by its members. A Board of Directors, all members of the KRA, runs the Association. The state headquarters, located in Louisville, has a staff available to help with the organization of events & meetings, keep members informed of the benefits, lobby for restaurant issues in Washington & Frankfort, and help them with the daily questions and problems in their business.
