Physicians’ Education Resource® Presents Three Satellite Symposia at the 36th Annual Miami Breast Cancer Conference®

Activities will discuss emerging strategies and pressing challenges faced by the breast cancer community

CRANBURY, N.J.--()--Physicians’ Education Resource® (PER®), a leading resource for continuing medical education (CME), will host three CME-accredited satellite symposia during the 36th Annual Miami Breast Cancer Conference®. These programs will be held at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach in Florida.

“We look forward to providing three additional educational activities to all our attendees at this year’s 36th Annual Miami Breast Cancer Conference®,” said Phil Talamo, president of PER®. “During these sessions, we encourage our audience members to share questions from their own experiences with our faculty experts, to further promote engagement, so we can improve treatment and management outcomes for patients with breast cancer.”

The PER® satellite symposia are:

  • Curbing the Opioid Epidemic: Taking Steps to Improve Postsurgical Outcomes for Your Patients With Breast Cancer, which will be held on Thursday, March 7, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. The program will be chaired by Patrick I. Borgen, M.D., chair of the department of surgery at Maimonides Medical Center. Borgen will be joined by clinical experts in surgical oncology and anesthesiology who will explore various aspects of contemporary pain management strategies to improve outcomes for patients with breast cancer.   • Coffee Talk: How to Best Apply PARP Inhibition Strategies to Patient Care, which will be held on Friday, March 8, from 7:00 to 8:30 a.m. The program will be chaired by Mark E. Robson, M.D., chief of breast medicine service at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Robson will be joined by leading experts in the management of patients with breast cancer who will address multiple topics pertaining to the use of PARP inhibitors through an engaging and interactive case-based format that will allow for multiple opportunities of audience interaction.   • Meeting Key Unmet Clinical Needs in HER2-Positive Breast Cancer: Aligning the Data With Strategy to Improve Patient Outcomes, which will be held on Saturday, March 9, from 7:00 to 8:30 a.m. The program will be chaired by Debasish Tripathy, M.D., professor and chair in the department of breast medical oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Tripathy will be joined by clinical experts in the management of patients with HER2-positive breast cancer who will review several clinical case scenarios to help contextualize recent evidence regarding the safety and efficacy of different treatment options for patients with early-stage and advanced disease.
