Ellie Mae Twice Honored by Prestigious 2018 Ragan Intranet Awards

Ellie Mae secures win in Ragan’s 2018 Intranet Awards “Employee Recognition” category and receives an honorable mention in the “Launch or Relaunch” category

PLEASANTON, Calif.--()--Ellie Mae® (NYSE:ELLI), the leading cloud-based platform provider for the mortgage finance industry, has been named a winner in Ragan’s 2018 Intranet Awards in the “Employee Recognition” category for its work with Unily on the “Cheers for Peers” widget and received an honorable mention in the “Launch or Relaunch” category for its “License to Succeed” campaign.

Ragan Communications and PR Daily run 11 awards programs each year, including the prestigious Digital PR and Social Media Awards, PR Daily Awards, Employee Communications Awards and Video and Visual Awards. Judged by globally regarded experts and featuring multiple categories, these programs honor the top work in communications, PR, marketing and media.

Ragan’s Intranet Awards celebrates the teams, organizations and consultants who have redefined the field with their groundbreaking work. As a winner in the program, Ellie Mae joins an elite group of past winners, including American Express Global Business Travel, Choice Hotels, the Navy Federal Credit Union, Visa and Hulu.

Ellie Mae’s work with Unily was chosen from a wide pool of entries to receive first prize in the “Employee Recognition” category of Ragan’s 2018 Intranet Awards for the ingenuity and impact of its revamped intranet and “Cheers for Peers” widget.

Ellie Mae worked with Unily to increase adoption of Ellie Connect – the intranet used by the 1,600 employees of Ellie Mae. The platform was designed to remove barriers separating employees and to encourage more peer-to-peer interaction and collaboration by facilitating new connections throughout the workforce. As a result, a “Cheers for Peers” widget was conceived as a way of providing an intuitive route for employees to recognize and reward their co-workers. Featured on Ellie Connect’s home page, “Cheers for Peers” has received more than 2,300 employee nominations as of September 2018, was ranked the number one overall method of peer-to-peer recognition at Ellie Mae (as per rewards and recognition survey in 2018) and has spurred a number of additional recognition initiatives from Ellie Mae employees.

Ellie Mae also received an honorable mention in the “Launch or Relaunch” category for its “License to Succeed” campaign.

For a buzz-worthy launch of Ellie Connect – a new, central source for internal company information – Ellie Mae generated awareness and excitement with a “License to Succeed” theme (a nod to a famous secret agent film). In theme, employees were encouraged to visit the Ellie Connect landing page and compete in a top-secret “mission.” The mission asked employees to use a series of clicks to learn about the new site. Employees who completed the mission were entered in a drawing for a $500 gift card and other prizes. The “mission” helped drive a 90 percent approval rating of Ellie Connect by employees within six months of the launch.

“Out of many outstanding submissions, we found Ellie Mae’s work to truly set a new standard of excellence for all corporate communications professionals. We congratulate them and look forward to seeing their future successes in this field,” said Justine Figueroa, senior marketing coordinator for awards programs at Ragan Communications.

“We’re honored to be recognized by Ragan in two categories for our dedication to improve employee recognition opportunities and collaboration tools,” said Susan Beermann, chief marketing officer at Ellie Mae. “We are continuously looking for additional ways to enhance our internal network to encourage a more collaborative community and make Ellie Mae a great place to work.”

Ellie Mae’s win was announced via social media, and the winning team was recognized for its accomplishment in a special write-up on Ragan’s internationally read news website that can be found here: https://www.ragan.com/awards/intranet-awards/2018/winners/employee-recognition/
