QUINCY, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Granite Telecommunications, LLC, a $1.4 billion annual revenue provider of communications services to multilocation businesses and government agencies, announced today that it was recognized by Forbes as one of the country’s 2019 Best Employers for Diversity. This prestigious list ranks 500 employers across the U.S. that have created measurable initiatives to ensure a diverse workforce and senior leadership team.
“At Granite, diversity and inclusion are business priorities and integral to our corporate culture,” said Granite CEO Robert Hale Jr. “Our people are our best asset, and the diversity and experience they bring to work every day empowers us to better serve our customers. We’re proud to be recognized by Forbes for fostering a diverse and inclusive working environment, and especially honored that this recognition stems from feedback from those who know our culture the best – our teammates.”
Granite employs more than 2,100 people across the country who are focused on simplifying communications with one bill and one contact for multilocation businesses, including more than two-thirds of Fortune 100 companies.
This is the third time in the past year that Forbes has recognized Granite for its exceptional workplace environment. The company recently was named to the magazine’s Best Employers for New Grads and America’s Best Midsize Employers lists. Granite also has a long list of awards for its philanthropic and charitable work.
To compile the Best Employers for Diversity list, Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista to survey 50,000 Americans. Respondents were consulted anonymously and asked about their companies’ age, ethnic and gender composition, as well as the programs they offer to foster an inclusive work environment. Companies were evaluated on four criteria: direct recommendations, indirect recommendations, diversity among top executives and boards, and diversity key performance indicators.
