GREENWICH, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--W. R. Berkley Corporation (NYSE:WRB) today announced the appointment of Arthur G. Davis as president of Vela Insurance Services, a Berkley Company. Mr. Davis succeeds David A. Jordan, who has moved to another senior leadership position at a Berkley portfolio company. The appointment is effective immediately.
Mr. Davis joined Vela in 2018 as senior vice president and chief underwriting officer. He has 30 years of experience in the property and casualty insurance industry, and most recently served as president of the excess and surplus lines segment at a large specialty insurer. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation.
