Embraco North America highlights future of refrigeration at AHR Expo 2019

Company showcases complete portfolio of cooling solutions compatible with natural refrigerant Propane (R290) at the world’s largest HVACR event

ATLANTA--()--Today at AHR Expo 2019, the world’s largest HVACR event, Embraco, a global company that promotes quality of life through innovative cooling solutions, showcased its vision for the future of refrigeration with energy efficient offerings compatible with natural refrigerant Propane (R290).

A pioneer in natural refrigerants for more than 20 years, Embraco uses natural refrigerants in its compressor portfolio for commercial food service, food retail, merchandisers and aftermarket segments as an alternative to reduce the negative effects on the ozone layer, greenhouse effects and to improve the equipment’s efficiency index. The company believes that using natural refrigerants – especially hydrocarbons – is the ideal solution for the future of refrigeration by sustainably aligning economic and environmental needs.

“With the U.S. light commercial refrigeration market already migrating to natural refrigerant (R290), sustainable solutions are becoming mainstream. Moving to natural refrigerants not only helps with compliance of future standards, but it also makes it easier to service equipment and be more energy efficient and environmentally friendly,” said Marek Zgliczynski, director of research and development, Embraco North America. “Because one out of every five compressors worldwide utilize the Embraco brand, it is our goal to ensure our customers and contractors are educated on natural refrigerants and are prepared to transition.”

To demonstrate its leadership in natural refrigerants, Embraco will highlight complete solutions for four key segments:

Merchandisers: a complete portfolio for merchandiser applications

Embraco will showcase its full portfolio of solutions designed to address the needs of its merchandiser customers including consolidating part numbers and, therefore, reducing inventory.

The complete portfolio of merchandiser solutions deliver improved efficiency by up to 30 percent while target temperatures are reached up to 70 percent faster. Each solution is compatible with R290 including the Embraco Fullmotion variable speed compressor FMF line-up and single speed solutions EMC line-up for reach-in refrigerators, vertical freezers and beverage coolers, bottle coolers, and refrigerated and frozen islands applications.

A Habco Manufacturing cold space merchandiser powered by an Embraco EMC compressor will be at booth #7431 to demonstrate how cooling solutions can deliver benefits to the final consumer.

Food Service: a complete range of a next generation portfolio

Embraco’s new generation of future proof solutions for Food Service are compatible with natural refrigerant (R290) and deliver the same robustness and reliability as the previous generation. The NEX, NTX and NJX solutions are available for a diverse set of applications such as reach-ins and freezers, bar coolers, ice makers, prep tables and under counter applications and offer an enhanced energy efficiency by up to 10 percent and an extended cooling capacity.

In addition, the NJX is compact and offers 20 percent less height than a two-cylinder option.

Food Retail: Solutions designed for end users

For small format food retail, Embraco will highlight the Plug n’ Cool, a pre-charged sealed system designed as a drop-in solution for reach-in and walk-in refrigerators with a simplified installation process for a faster store commissioning and recommissioning. No machine room is needed, therefore increasing the merchandising area and allowing for better floor space optimization.

The innovative modular design with zero leakage allows for potential internal volume increase and improves the experience for OEMs, end-users such as food retail chains and even consumers by increasing the flexibility of the store’s architecture and requires easy, low-cost maintenance.

The Plug n’ Cool, available for beverage dispensers, reach-ins (air cooled or water cooled), vending machines and cold rooms, uses R290, which complies with U.S. standards and was specifically designed with top efficiency components.

Embraco reinforces North American Aftermarket presence with increased support and distribution center

Additionally, Embraco will feature its full portfolio of aftermarket products including a full line of condensing units and compressors and genuine replacement parts such as relays, overloads, start caps and run caps. All service parts are under warranty and compatible with a wide variety of applications including commercial reach-ins, vertical freezers, bottle coolers and residential household refrigerators and wine coolers.

The company also supports its North American aftermarket customers with a 50,000 square-foot distribution center at the Embraco North American headquarters in Duluth, Georgia, where specialized technical and customer service professionals provide quality and convenient service for an expanded array of product lines while leveraging relationships with master distributors, wholesalers, contractors and technicians.

“We look forward to showcasing our innovations and connecting with OEMs, wholesalers, contractors and end-users to learn how to support and customize their needs with our comprehensive solutions and product offerings,” said Kerry O’Brate, senior manager, Embraco North America. “The company invests in research and development to continuously evolve as the demand for sustainable, easy and serviceable solutions increases.”
