HealthStream Announces New Agreement with RQI Partners, a Joint Venture between Laerdal Medical and the American Heart Association

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--()--HealthStream (NASDAQ: HSTM), a leading provider of workforce and provider solutions for the healthcare industry, today announced its signing of a new, three-year agreement with RQI Partners, LLC, a joint venture partnership between Laerdal Medical and the American Heart Association. This joint venture is the primary authorized provider of HeartCode® and Resuscitation Quality Improvement® (RQI®) products that have been distributed by HealthStream over recent years. Under the terms of the agreement, hospitals and health systems will have the option of having their American Heart Association/Laerdal Medical resuscitation solutions delivered via HealthStream’s Learning Center™ (HLC), beginning January 1, 2019. These solutions include the full portfolio of Resuscitation Quality Improvement products, including their HeartCode, RQI, and the RQI 2020 suite of products, launching in January 2019.

“While HealthStream will not be marketing, selling, or contracting any of American Heart Association/Laerdal Medical RQI products, the new agreement does provide for continuity of service for shared customers and delivery via HealthStream’s Learning Center™," said Robert A. Frist, Jr., Chief Executive Officer, HealthStream.

Because RQI Partners’ resuscitation solutions will be HLC-validated, they have met HealthStream’s standards for high-quality delivery and integration on the HLC. Under the terms of the agreement, HealthStream will receive an economic benefit for the provision of these services.

“Our new agreement with HealthStream will allow continuation of the convenience and reliability that our mutual customers have grown to appreciate as the American Heart Association and Laerdal Medical RQI Programs are delivered on HealthStream’s widely-adopted Learning Center™,” said Clive Patrickson, Chief Executive Officer, RQI Partners.
