BIO Welcomes 21 New Companies to Industrial & Environmental Section

WASHINGTON--()--The Biotechnology Innovation Organization today announced 21 companies have joined the Industrial & Environmental Section over the past year. The announcement comes as BIO expands its programming for the 2019 BIO World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology, which will feature sessions on innovations in agriculture, gene editing, renewable chemicals, biofuels, food ingredients, synthetic biology and more. The 2019 BIO World Congress will take place at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines, Iowa, July 8-11, 2019.

Brent Erickson, executive vice president of BIO’s Industrial & Environmental Section, welcomed the new members, stating:

“BIO welcomes these new members as we continue to lead advocacy efforts for the advancement of industrial biotechnology, and thus the strengthening of the bio-based economy. These new member companies represent innovations taking place in various aspects of the bio-based economy, from technology development to those that produce renewable chemicals, bio-based materials and bioplastics, and advanced and cellulosic biofuels. BIO looks forward to working with these companies as we continue to drive policies that foster innovation.”
