The Chartis Center for Rural Health Recognizes Rural Performance Leadership on National Rural Health Day

PORTLAND, Maine--()--In celebration of National Rural Health Day, The Chartis Center for Rural Health today announced the 2018 Performance Leadership Award recipients. Presented in partnership with the National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health (NOSORH), the Performance Leadership Awards recognize top quartile performance by rural hospitals in Quality, Outcomes and Patient Perspective.

The Performance Leadership Awards are based on the data analysis of iVantage Health Analytics’ Hospital Strength INDEX® and signify top quartile performance in either category. The INDEX measures rural providers across 50 rural-relevant performance indicators and is widely regarded as the most objective and comprehensive assessment of rural hospital performance. To view this year’s recipients in each category, please visit: www.ivantageindex.com/top-performing-hospitals/.

“As the challenges of the rural health safety net have come to the national forefront in recent years, National Rural Health Day plays an important role in spotlighting the unique relationship between rural hospitals and their communities,” said Michael Topchik, National Leader, The Chartis Center for Rural Health. “We’re delighted to play a role in the national conversation surrounding the rural health safety net, and in recognizing those facilities which are pushing past adversity to improve the quality of care in their communities.”
