NEACH Announces Winners of 2018 Innovation and Excellence Awards

Awards highlight advances in the payments industry nationally and worldwide

BURLINGTON, Mass.--()--The New England Automated Clearing House (NEACH) announced the winners of its 2018 Innovation and Excellence Awards. These awards showcase outstanding payments products and services to the financial services industry and beyond. They recognize individuals and organizations that bring new, innovative products and services to market.

This year’s winners were Blackboard Inc., which provides secure transaction services to more than 700 higher education campuses; Bottomline Technologies, an innovator in business payment automation technology used by businesses in 92 countries; and Gemalto, a global digital security leader whose solutions enable businesses and governments to authenticate identities and protect data. The winners were recognized at the Innovating Payments 2018 awards luncheon on November 14.

“We are thrilled to highlight these examples of extraordinary effort, purpose, and commitment to our industry,” said Sean Carter, NEACH President. “The projects and people associated with Blackboard, Bottomline Technologies, and Gemalto are transforming payments and providing customers with the tools to make their financial lives easier, faster, and more secure.”

The Innovation and Excellence Awards cover six categories:

  • Advancement: Leading the industry in the implementation of innovative payments solutions
  • Efficiency: Improving the effectiveness of electronic payments
  • Faster Payments: Introducing solutions that accelerate the speed of payments
  • Innovation: Implementing new technologies or progressive practices to move the industry forward
  • Leadership: Recognizing the significant and positive impact on advancing payments
  • Security: Demonstrating exceptional strides in payments system security

These winners join 2017 Innovation and Excellence Awards winners Avidia Bank, a $1.5 billion community bank headquartered in Hudson, Massachusetts; PeoplesBank, the largest community bank in western Massachusetts and financer of more than $171 million in wind, hydroelectric, and solar energy projects; and Tyfone, Inc., a leading provider of digital banking solutions, including online, mobile, wearable, and voice banking.
