Barnes & Noble Announces Michelle Obama’s Becoming Has the Most Pre-Orders of Any Adult Book in Over Three Years

Becoming Poised to be the Biggest Adult Book of the Season During a Period of Blockbuster Publishing

NEW YORK--()--Barnes & Noble, Inc. (NYSE: BKS), the world’s largest retail bookseller, today announced that Michelle Obama’s Becoming has sold the most pre-orders of an adult book since Harper Lee’s Go Set a Watchman, which was published in July 2015 and went on to post the largest first-day sales for adult fiction in Company history.

“We’ve already seen tremendous demand for Becoming before it has even hit the shelves,” said Liz Harwell, Senior Director of Merchandising, Trade Books at Barnes & Noble. “Our stores across the country are ready for huge demand tomorrow for what will likely be the biggest book of the season during what has been a blockbuster publishing calendar.”

Obama’s Becoming is available for pre-order on BN.com, and will be on sale online and in Barnes & Noble stores across the country tomorrow, including the option for customers to Buy Online, Pick up in Store.
