VCA Animal Hospitals Offers Free Boarding for Pets Displaced by Southern California Fires

LOS ANGELES--()--VCA Animal Hospitals announced that select VCA hospitals in southern California are offering free boarding assistance to dogs and cats, and other species to families affected by the fires in both Ventura and Los Angeles counties. The Hill Fire and the Woolsey Fire have forced thousands of mandatory evacuations in Thousand Oaks, Camarillo and Malibu.

“These raging fires have impacted countless families, many with pets who need to find shelter,” said Art Antin, Chief Operating Officer of VCA Animal Hospitals. “VCA hospitals in the area of the fires are extending free boarding for pets, so evacuated families can focus on their most pressing priorities.”

Boarding assistance at participating southern California hospitals is based on space availability. Pets should be current on vaccinations, but in case they are not, VCA veterinarians will update vaccinations free of charge. VCA Hospitals will also offer a free health assessment exam for pets that have been evacuated or displaced due to the Hill and Woolsey fires.

Affected pet owners who need help boarding their pets are encouraged to identify a hospital near them and call for boarding availability at this link.
