OMAHA, Neb.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--TD Ameritrade1 is once again expanding its digital reach by teaming up with Oculus Go from Facebook to provide one of the first-of-its-kind immersive learning experience for investors. TD Ameritrade formally announced this relationship at its Investor Education Conference in Las Vegas, the largest investor education conference of its kind in the industry.
“Visualization is a powerful tool because it makes abstract things seem more real,” said Sunayna Tuteja, head of strategic partnerships and emerging technologies at TD Ameritrade. “Finance is often abstract, and we’re excited to take first step in using the power of VR, combined with our expertise and knowledge, to further demystify the often complex topic of investing. We’re on a journey to break down more barriers to entry when it comes to investing in the markets, and this is one more way we can do that.”
With TD Ameritrade’s first experience on Oculus Go, investors get a real-life view of things normally inaccessible to the public – taking them inside the NYSE, the CBOE and Bitcoin mine – to give them an intimate look at the world of finance.
Through its relationship, TD Ameritrade is one of the first to provide investor educational content on Oculus, allowing users to have an immersive way to learn about investing topics. Individuals can access the TD Ameritrade experience by visiting the Oculus Video app on the main menu. It is also accessible through the Oculus mobile app on a mobile device.
“Learning through an interactive experience is an exciting and immersive way that will help investors understand more complex issues and retain the knowledge learned for their own financial futures,” explains Lee McAdoo, managing director, Investor Education at TD Ameritrade. “By bringing our best-in-class educational content to new platforms like Oculus Go, we expand our ability to teach investors through platforms that can delight and educate them simultaneously.”
TD Ameritrade was ranked no. 1 broker overall in Kiplinger’s Best Online Brokers of 2018, winning five-stars in the “User Experience” category for meeting clients on the platforms they spend the most time on. The firm was also awarded five-stars in the “Tools” category for its trove of educational content available to investors. Additionally, the firm was named best for “Students of Investing.” Learn more about TD Ameritrade’s investor education offering by visiting the education page.
