Pharmacy Times Continuing Education™ to Host Educational Symposia at Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy Nexus 2018

The educational sessions are created by and for managed care professionals

CRANBURY, N.J.--()--Pharmacy Times Continuing Education™ (PTCE), a leader in continuing education for retail, health-system, managed care and specialty pharmacists, will conduct four continuing education symposia in conjunction with AJMC® at the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) Nexus: Preparing for the Next Generation of Care, which will take place Oct. 22-25 at the Orlando World Center Marriott in Orlando, Florida, announced Jim Palatine, RPh, MBA, president of PTCE.

“Advancements in drug therapy that include innovative agents and new regimens require managed care and specialty pharmacy professionals to have the most current clinical and economic data,” said Palatine. “I am excited that our symposia will provide the most valuable and up-to-date information for attendees.   • The Era of PARP Inhibition in Cancer Management—Patient Selection and Deciding When to Use in Treatment will be held Tuesday, Oct. 23, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Orlando World Center Marriott, room Canary 3-4. This symposium will feature Jason Bergsbaken, PharmD, BCOP, pharmacy coordinator, regional oncology services, University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics.   • Impact of von Willebrand Disease on Costs and Patient Outcomes—Featuring a Patient Perspective will be held Wednesday, Oct. 24, from 6-7:45 a.m. at the Orlando World Center Marriott, room Canary 1-2. The educational activities will feature a multidisciplinary panel that will explore many facets of managed care pharmacy and health care. From emerging models of care and value-based care to trends affecting the business of managed care pharmacy, AMCP Nexus: Preparing for the Next Generation of Care will provide attendees with current, actionable knowledge to further their organizations and careers in an ever-changing profession. Each symposium will identify key changes and updates to the area of managed care pharmacy. Each activity is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education and is approved for 1.5 contact hours.
