Andrew C. Temte Promoted to CEO at Kaplan Professional

LA CROSSE, Wis.--()--Andrew C. Temte, PhD, CFA, was promoted to Chief Executive Officer of Kaplan Professional, a division of Kaplan, Inc., the global education provider which is a subsidiary of Graham Holdings Company (NYSE-GHC).

Kaplan Professional offers a large portfolio of professional development programs and helps individuals earn industry-recognized licensures, certifications, and designations in the accounting, engineering, insurance, securities, real estate, financial planning, and information technology industries.

Dr. Temte’s promotion also signals the elevation of Kaplan Professional as a fourth division within Kaplan, which also includes Kaplan Test Prep, Kaplan Higher Education and Kaplan International. Previously, Kaplan Professional had been part of the Kaplan Higher and Professional Education unit.

Dr. Temte joined Kaplan in 1999, when the company acquired the Schweser CFA business. He began his professional education career in 1990, working with Dr. Carl Schweser to build the Schweser Study Program into the leader in CFA exam review. Earlier in his Kaplan career, Dr. Temte served as president of Kaplan University’s College of Business and Technology and later served as Dean of Kaplan University’s School of Professional and Continuing Education. He has served as president of Kaplan Professional since 2007.

Dr. Temte earned his doctorate and master’s degrees in finance from the University of Iowa and his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse (UW-L) in economics. He serves on the Board of Directors for the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Foundation, and works closely with his wife Linda to support the local community through ‘musical philanthropy’ along with his bandmates in The Remainders. Dr. Temte holds the CFA designation and has over 14 years of university teaching experience at UW-L and the University of Iowa in the areas of corporate finance, investments, and international finance.
