Life Image Relaunches with New, Unified Interoperability Suite, Broader Market Focus, and Enhanced Ability to Manage Wide Range of Data and Imaging Content

Company Expands into Life Sciences and Payer Markets with Advanced Technology that Enables Access to Comprehensive Medical Data, Driving Improved Outcomes and Supporting Research

NEWTON, Mass.--()--Life Image, the world's largest global network for sharing clinical and imaging data that is powered by industry leading interoperability standards, today announced its official relaunch. Specifically, the company unveiled its new unified Interoperability Suite, as well as expanded capabilities to better manage a range of medical data and solutions designed to meet the unique needs of all constituents in the healthcare ecosystem. This relaunch reflects the company’s evolution from solely focusing on image exchange to leveraging its large global network and interoperability expertise to enable the sharing of all clinical information, including medical images, across a patient’s journey.

Life Image’s new Interoperability Suite brings all of the company’s applications together into one platform. The solution supports interoperability through standards-based connectivity to a wide range of data assets, such as medical claims, EHR, and imaging data, using HL7, FHIR, XDS and DICOM. With this new suite, healthcare organizations can have increased flexibility for utilizing Life Image’s extensive global network in a wide range of use cases.

Building on more than a decade of experience in health systems and academic medical centers, Life Image is also expanding its focus beyond provider entities to include life science, payer, and AI organizations. The company is applying its deep technical expertise in managing imaging data, which traditionally have been among the most difficult files to manage, to enrich other data types in order to support research and development for life science entities; population health and member engagement initiatives for payer organizations with its Mammosphere solution; and more.

“The amazing proliferation of new types of patient health data is enabling innovation and new approaches for life science organizations, payers, providers, and patients to align around the same goal of optimal outcomes. In this way, Life Image is uniquely poised to play a critical role in facilitating that convergence,” said Matthew A. Michela, President and CEO, Life Image. “We have spent the past 10 years innovating an interoperable network ecosystem to orchestrate the real-time flow of all clinical information across a patient’s journey, and now we are eager to bring our new suite to life science, payer, precision medicine, and AI organizations, while continuing to facilitate innovation and collaboration with the provider market.”

Life Image’s provider network is unmatched, with more than 1,500 hospital connections, 8,000 affiliated sites, 150,000 providers across the United States, and 58,000 global clinics. Its interoperable network, which effectively integrates into existing workflows, orchestrates the flow of 10 million clinical encounters per month, seamlessly connecting hospitals, physicians, patients, life sciences, medical device companies, and telehealth companies around the world.

Life Image will showcase its new Interoperability Suite at the 2018 Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) Annual Meeting, scheduled for Nov. 25-30 in Chicago, Illinois.
