Systems Architecture Pioneer and Co-Founder of Sambanova Systems to Speak at the AI Hardware Summit

Learn How Software 2.0 is Driving Innovations in AI Infrastructure

PALO ALTO, Calif.--()--SambaNova Systems, a rapidly growing Silicon Valley-based startup building the industry’s most advanced systems platform to run AI applications in the datacenter to the edge, today announced that Kunle Olukotun, co-founder and chief technologist of SambaNova Systems will present at the AI Hardware Summit on Tuesday, September 18 at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, Calif. Olukotun will discuss the evolution of today’s software stack and the technologies required to power the next wave of Software 2.0 applications bringing AI to everyone, everywhere.

Leading companies are beginning to strategically deploy AI throughout their organization. AI applications are demanding massive amounts of compute power and creating new economics as the next generation of computing emerges.

“Today, organizations are currently settling for expensive temporary solutions that are being cobbled together to run AI applications,” says Kunle Olukotun. “A radically new architecture is needed - an integrated approach bringing together new hardware and software innovations to maximize the performance, efficiency and the possibilities of increasingly more intelligent applications.”

Olukotun is an ACM Fellow and IEEE Fellow for contributions to multiprocessors on a chip and multi-threaded processor design. He was recently awarded the prestigious IEEE Computer Society’s Harry H. Goode Memorial Award. Olukotun is also Director of the Pervasive Parallel Lab and the Cadence Design Systems Professor in the School of Engineering at Stanford University.

He is also a member of the Data Analytics for What’s Next (DAWN) Lab, which is developing infrastructure for usable machine learning. In addition, he co-founded Afara Websystems that was acquired by Sun Microsystems in 2002.
