Zotec’s Patient Engagement Methods Help Georgia Radiology Group Navigate New Billing Challenges

Radiology Associates of Macon Renews Multi-Year RCM Services Agreement

INDIANAPOLIS--()--Zotec Partners (Zotec), the industry-leading provider of radiology revenue cycle and practice management services, announces a multi-year revenue cycle management (RCM) services renewal with Radiology Associates of Macon (RAM), a hospital-based private practice radiology group serving the Central Georgia Community since 1972.

RAM needed better ways to engage patients with high-deductible health plans in the billing process, according to Thomas J. Herald, senior vice president of radiology with Zotec who states, “Zotec has risen to meet new industry challenges that now position patients as consumers, covering the entire range of the patient experience from check-in to payment, and offering multiple payment options for patients including mobile billing, text messaging, payment plans, and patient portals all based on our patients’ demographics and preferences. With this unique and diverse offering, we’ve been able to help RAM educate and understand their patients better, with best practices that continue to help them collect the most money for services rendered.”

RAM’s Practice Administrator, Greg Cassimus notes the group’s RCM success can be attributed to Zotec’s approach to RCM over the years. “As a group we want to provide the best experience for our patients, from accurate and timely clinical results to helping them fully understand their medical bills,” he says. “Zotec has always helped us meet every financial challenge, even back in 2001 when we were getting payments from the insurance carriers. Now, Zotec gives us ways we can better engage our self-pay patients and maximize their payments.” He goes on to say that Zotec’s new cutting-edge patient experience technologies have greatly improved how RAM interacts with patients. “We’ve found that educating them about their insurance and what is owed, and giving them payment options that they prefer, has improved our overall patient satisfaction,” he adds.

RAM’s team of 30 board-certified radiologists provide expertise in sub-specialty areas such as body imaging, neuroradiology, pediatric radiology, musculoskeletal, mammography, vascular and interventional radiology, radiation, oncology, and nuclear medicine.

Zotec is the largest radiology revenue cycle management provider in the country, with more than 20 years in the radiology industry. It serves 35 of the nation’s top 100 radiology groups, including thousands of radiologists.
