The awards honor individuals who are making a difference in the gastrointestinal cancers community

CRANBURY, N.J.--()--OncLive®, the leading digital provider of resources and information to oncology professionals, in conjunction with The Ruesch Center’s Fighting a Smarter War on Cancer — A Three-Part symposium, will host the Luminary Awards in GI Cancers on November 29 at the Washington Hilton in Washington, D.C.

The 2018 Luminary Awards in GI Cancers will honor five distinguished individuals who are committed to improving the lives of patients affected by gastrointestinal cancers. The winners for the 2017 awards included Julie Fleshman, J.D., MBA, of Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, Daniel G. Haller, M.D., FACP, FRCP, of Abramson Cancer Center, University of Pennsylvania, Henry T. Lynch, M.D., M.S., FACP, FAACR, of Creighton University School of Medicine, Frank McCormick, Ph.D., FRS, of University of California, San Francisco, Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, and Andrew L. Warshaw, M.D., FACS, FRCSEd (Hon), of Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts General Hospital.
