Perfecto Expands Continuous Testing Support for Cross-Browser Testing Frameworks

Perfecto’s support for BDD accelerates web development and enables cross-browser testing at scale

BOSTON--()--Perfecto, the leading continuous testing and monitoring platform for optimizing DevOps pipelines, today announced its Continuous Quality Lab for web, mobile, and IoT testing now supports three web testing frameworks: Codecept, Gauge, and NightwatchJS. Support for these frameworks expands Perfecto’s existing set of supported cross-browser test frameworks: Protractor, webdriverIO, selenium, and Quantum, the open source test execution framework contributed by Perfecto. Perfecto’s open and integrated approach enables its platform to support web, mobile, and IoT teams using a diverse set of test frameworks to achieve continuous testing at scale.

Across brands, web development teams are accelerating their software delivery as they move towards continuous delivery (CD). To meet velocity objectives, organizations are focused on choosing tools that fit best with their toolchains, practices, and skills. Behavior-driven development (BDD) frameworks have gained popularity in the web testing community due to their ability to develop automation using a simple English language syntax. Perfecto’s expanded support enables test automation to be built by non-engineers and provides development teams with the ability to choose the tools that fit best within their process.

“Development teams are focused on choosing the best tools that integrate within their toolchains,” said Yoram Mizrachi, CTO and co-founder at Perfecto. “BDD frameworks can help dev teams go faster and fully achieve continuous testing across multiple web browsers. Our technology is designed to easily integrate with a variety of tools. We are continually validating our solution supports the frameworks being used by our customers.”

In addition to supporting the Codecept, Gauge and NightwatchJS frameworks, users also benefit from Perfecto’s capabilities to strengthen open source frameworks:

  • Simplified analysis for cross-browser testing results – Perfecto’s DigitalZoom™ Reporting provides DevOps teams with an easy side-by-side comparison of desktop and mobile browsers.
  • Easy integration into a variety of toolchains – Perfecto’s Continuous Quality Lab provides web DevOps teams with the capability to quickly evaluate app quality, with parallel execution on virtually any browser used by their customers.
