Fexy Launches Relish - A Proprietary Web App for Meal Planning and Grocery eCommerce

The Relish Network App, launching first on Simply Recipes and Serious Eats, enables meal planning with scalable shopping lists and online grocery commerce across multiple recipe sites

SEATTLE--()--Fexy, a food focused content and technology company, launched Relish Network, a web app that allows recipe publishers to add features like saved recipes, menu planning, scalable shopping lists and shoppable recipes integrated with multiple grocery delivery services, including Amazon Fresh. The app, releasing first on Fexy’s owned and operated properties--Simply Recipes and Serious Eats--will be launching with a number of top food publishers in the upcoming months.

Visitors to Relish Network sites will be able to save favorite recipes from multiple sources in one place, and create meal plans with recipes from all participating sites. Additional features include, scalable shopping lists that combine ingredients from all recipes and easy one click grocery commerce that will pass through all ingredients to the preferred grocery delivery service. Though Relish is launching first to the 20 million unique visitors on Simply Recipes and Serious Eats, as more recipe sites are added to the network, home cooks will be able to save their favorite recipes from their favorite participating recipe sites and blogs, create menus, combine ingredients into one scalable shopping list and then easily shop for the ingredients through grocery retailers such as Amazon Fresh, and delivery services that deliver from top grocery retailers nationwide.

“Fexy’s goal is to simplify the daily task of getting dinner on the table for the millions of people who visit recipe websites every day,” said Cliff Sharples, co-CEO and founder of Fexy. “We built the Relish technology to help home cooks not only find the right recipe but seamlessly order the ingredients online to avoid a trip to the grocery store. Now with 2 hour delivery from national grocers, consumers can take advantage of this technology any day of the week.”

“We launched one-click grocery shopping in October. Now we are thrilled to add features like saved recipes and integrated shopping lists, helping our readers plan their meals and shop for groceries,” said Elise Bauer, founder and president of Simply Recipes. “These types of features are challenging for independent recipe publishers and food bloggers to implement on their own - Relish is a terrific resource for our site and the industry overall.”

According to Morningstar, online grocery shopping is the fastest growing retail category, coming in at 14.2 billion dollars in 2017. According to Nielsen, “by 2022 consumers could be spending $100 Billion dollars a year on online grocery. That’s equal to every U.S. household annually spending $850 online for food and beverage.”

Relish is the next evolution of the quickly evolving grocery industry and digital food space. Over 50% of millennials identify themselves as foodies, and have quickly adopted convenience-oriented delivery services from grocery stores to restaurants. The meal kit industry has identified the need for more convenient dinner solutions. Unlike some meal kit subscription services, where higher costs, little flexibility and a significant increase in packaging can be problematic for consumers, Relish does not try to change existing consumer behavior, providing ease of use and unrestrained choice of food options. With Relish, home cooks can pick their meals from a variety of recipe sites, quickly customize and scale their shopping list and have the groceries on their doorstep within 2 hours. This creates much needed flexibility and saves the added costs that come with meal kits.

Recipe sites interested in joining the Relish Network can visit relishnetwork.com or email us at info@relishnetwork.com for more information. Food blogs are encouraged to reach out as the Relish technology can be implemented for little to no cost for them.
