Booz Allen Hamilton Appoints Stephen Labaton Executive Vice President for Corporate Affairs

MCLEAN, Va.--()--Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE: BAH) today announced the appointment of Stephen Labaton, a leading public affairs executive and former New York Times journalist, to be Executive Vice President for Corporate Affairs. In this newly created position, Labaton will oversee Booz Allen’s corporate affairs, including marketing and communications, media relations, government relations and corporate social responsibility functions.

Labaton, who will join Booz Allen next month, is President, North America, at Finsbury, a global strategic communications firm, where he has been a strategic counselor on reputation building, issues management and public affairs to Chief Executive Officers and General Counsels of some of the world’s leading companies and institutions. He previously reported for more than 20 years at The New York Times, where he was a senior writer in the Washington Bureau. He was twice awarded the Gerald Loeb Award for Distinguished Business and Financial Journalism and was twice part of teams that were finalists for the Pulitzer Prize.

For the past seven years, Labaton has served as a board member of Juvenile Law Center, a leading national advocacy organization dedicated to advancing the rights and opportunities of youth in the welfare and justice systems. He will become president of the board of JLC in September. Labaton is a member of the Board of Advisors of the Knight-Bagehot Fellowship in Economics and Business Journalism of the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and a former chairman of the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press. He is a member of the Board of Visitors of Duke University School of Law. He graduated from Tufts University with a BA degree in philosophy and political science, magna cum laude, and from Duke with JD and MA degrees.
