Continuum Acquires Managed Security Leader CARVIR, Expands Cybersecurity Offering to Include SIEM and EDR

Acquisition powers acceleration of Continuum Security rollout with two new and enhanced offerings for Endpoint and Network & Compliance security, enabling MSPs to instantly and credibly provide complete security services to their clients

BOSTON--()--Continuum®, the exclusive provider of the only service-enabled technology platform that enables MSPs to scale rapidly and profitably, today announced the expansion of its cybersecurity offering, Continuum Security, through the acquisition of CARVIR, a leader in monitored and managed security for the channel. The move extends Continuum’s cybersecurity offerings and ability to enable IT service providers to meet the mounting security and compliance needs of their SMB clients.

Continuum Security solutions provide MSPs with purpose-built tools and a complete set of services that enable them to meet the varying security and compliance needs of their end-clients in the small-to-medium business sector. At a time when increasing talent shortages have put pressure on IT service providers seeking to scale their businesses, Continuum Security and the Continuum Security Operations Center (SOC) provide partners with the resources and expertise to effectively and efficiently protect their clients.

The expansion is led by the introduction of two enhanced offerings, fully supported by the Continuum SOC: Detect & Respond – Endpoint and Detect & Respond – Network & Compliance. Powered by SentinelOne, Endpoint uses enterprise-grade monitoring and analysis of endpoints to identify and remediate active security threats for SMB end-clients. Network & Compliance, meanwhile, leverages Gartner-recognized and industry-leading SIEM technology from EventTracker to identify and remediate attacks within networks and endpoints, and to meet the requirements for common regulations like PCI, HIPAA and GLBA.

The two Detect & Respond offerings are available alongside Profile & Protect, which allows providers to define, adhere to and determine how their current services are protecting their clients against common attack vectors, such as phishing and ransomware.

“Security is the greatest threat to businesses today, and the greatest opportunity for MSPs, and Continuum Security was created to enable the channel to capitalize on these dynamics.” said Michael George, CEO, Continuum. “Our partners already benefit from our security solutions and it was clear to us that, by bringing onboard CARVIR’s expertise and technology, we could heighten our partners’ capabilities in this space. In doing so, we’ve been able to rapidly accelerate our own plans to enhance Continuum Security, and are now in pole position to fuel our partners’ growth and profitability in cybersecurity and beyond.”

“Our partners have turned to us because of our proven ability to offer enterprise-grade security solutions to the SMB marketplace, at a time when IT service providers struggle to protect their clients who are under fire from cyber threats around the world,” said Jay Ryerse, CEO & Founder, CARVIR and incoming Security Products CTO. “By joining the Continuum team, we’re now able to extend our technological expertise to the Continuum Security suite, and expand the range of services and solutions that our partners can benefit from.”

eTrepid, Inc. is a Maryland-based IT service provider that has worked with both Continuum and CARVIR to provide cybersecurity and general IT services. Tom Blandford, founder and owner of eTrepid, said, “Thanks to CARVIR’s technology and security services, we’ve been able to protect our end-clients from some of today’s biggest cyber threats, including ransomware and spear phishing. We’ve also seen Continuum prove time and again that they know how to deliver services that support the growth of our business.”

“We look forward to working more closely with Continuum following the acquisition of CARVIR, leveraging its SOC and expanded security offerings to seize the significant business opportunity offered by cybersecurity.”

As a result of the acquisition, Continuum’s SOC has expanded across two locations in the United States and India, providing location redundancy and growing the depth of security expertise available to partners. At a time when increasing talent shortages have put pressure on IT service providers seeking to scale their businesses, Continuum’s expanded SOC provides partners with the resources and expertise to protect their clients.
