Vizient Supports the Stretching Entity Resources for Vulnerable (SERV) Communities Act

IRVING, Texas--()--Vizient, Inc. today announced its support for the Stretching Entity Resources for Vulnerable (SERV) Communities Act. This newly proposed legislation would take a number of important steps to protect and preserve the integrity of the 340B Drug Pricing Program, which is essential for safety-net hospitals that provide critical health care services to vulnerable patients and underserved communities.

The SERV Act would clarify the intent of the 340B program and provide for enhanced program integrity. The legislation also takes critical steps to protect hospitals and other covered entities by ensuring that public and private payers are not able to reduce reimbursement based on 340B eligibility. Additionally, the SERV Act would reverse the devastating Medicare cuts currently being assessed on 340B hospitals.

Vizient appreciates this measured approach to support 340B program integrity efforts to ensure this crucial program remains available to safety-net hospitals and other eligible providers.

As the nation’s largest health care performance improvement company, Vizient serve a diverse membership that includes academic medical centers, pediatric facilities, community hospitals, integrated health care delivery networks and non-acute health care providers.
