NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--L3 Technologies (NYSE:LLL) announced today that its AMI division in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, has won a 2018 James S. Cogswell Outstanding Industrial Security Achievement Award from the U.S. Department of Defense, Defense Security Service (DSS). L3 is one of 39 recipients of this year’s award from a field of approximately 13,300 cleared defense contractor facilities.
The Cogswell Award is the highest honor a company can receive for the handling of classified information with integrity, discretion and proven reliability. The 2018 award marks the 14th consecutive year that L3 has achieved one or more Cogswell Awards for its industry-leading security practices, and this is the 26th Cogswell Award that L3 has received since 2005. L3 AMI specializes in the design and production of electromechanical simulation instruments and integrated training system hardware for aviation, maritime and custom applications.
“Receiving this important award demonstrates our enduring commitment to benchmark security practices that protect our nation,” said Christopher E. Kubasik, L3’s Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President. “We’re very proud of our security professionals who aspire every day to meet or exceed the requirements of our customers at the national level. This recognition validates their hard work and unwavering dedication.”
“This special recognition from DSS reflects the innovative spirit that drives us in meeting the challenges of an escalating global threat environment,” said Vincent L. Jarvie, L3’s Vice President of Corporate Security. “Staying vigilant in the security arena is a key component of our strategy of continuous improvement. It makes us a better company, and it’s the right thing to do.”
Cogswell Award nominees are competitively ranked by a national review team, with DSS making the final selections. Winning security programs must exceed National Industrial Security Program requirements and demonstrate leadership in best practices, while maintaining the highest security standards.
